Storm Shaken

She was hibernating,
 oblivious of the storm
 seething, and
preparing to blow her away.
startled, she was roused
by the clap of thunder;
In her dream she had,but,
heard an applause

Delusions were shaken,
rather rudely
and she sprang up to starkness
of reality

Your Unwritten Poem

You hold a poem in your heart
the one that you wrote on a
 rain soaked day
when the clouds obliged us
with a much blessed spray

You still have it
tucked somewhere in your orbit

Your eyes and your sighs
your  lows and your highs
give you away

In your verses
you hold your love
and my nonchalance.
Your words,but, convey
no grievance.

Several notes exchange hands
 you write some
and recite some
Only
one poem remains
silent
you hold it,  tucked
in the parenthesis!

The Elusive Rainbow

I stole a patch of sun
while you were hibernating
I wished you to wake up
to light
The sun burned and melted
in my palm
You refused to stir.

You awoke to
the clap of thunder.
The sky wore the gloom,
the rain fell in sheets.
You pranced in joy!
I still stood
holding the patch of Sun

Soon the deluge
threatened to
drown you,
drown us.
You looked worried
but not beaten
I took refuge in my faith;
you let your belief
carry you away.

You still  have the rain,
I still carry the sun.
The rainbow,but gives us
the miss!

The Ring of Moon

When the moon came down
descending upon the earthlings
She hung over the bridge
across the dusty city sky.
No poets she came across
who wrote for her the odes
No painters came by her
who brought her alive
on their canvas boards

The moon lay waiting
for lovers to come seeking
the inspiration
that made them croon
the love songs

Forlorn ,it stayed put
a halo illuminating
the drab earth
and then, after eons
it rose steadily
before the greedy earth
could suck her
in its decadence
So, majestically it rose
and slowly faded
behind the clouds

Stormy Soul

Do you understand the storms?
They rage across your sky
deafening roars piercing hearts
Their ferocity tears you apart
Do storms have souls?
the restless,
agonised souls
waiting for a reprieve.
as they take your leave.
The skies, too, have emotional outbursts
ripping at the seams
like minds,
tormented minds
screaming minds.
Do storms have hearts?
do they seethe, feel
too stifled to breathe
I hold them inside me
hiding them from skies
hiding them in my lies
But they betray me
as they cloud my eyes
with a strange grayness
The doors of my heart
rattle,dangerously
shaking the core
faith threatened,
uprooted
The wait for storm to pass
goes on, nevertheless
The lull,afterwards
howls.
Do you understand
the silences
after the storms
cold to feel,gray to see
eerie silences scream loud
The uninhabited planet,
that I call heart
seeks relief

After Me...

Will you
shed a tear or two
the day I bid my
last goodbye?
Will it rain on that day
falling with abandon?
I have always liked
the passion of a downpour!
Or, will the leaves,
dried out and
weathered,
fall over the place
I had claimed as mine
Will you,
place beside me
a bouquet of my verses?
Some had brought me smiles
others had made me cry
some I wrote for you
and the ones I did not show
There are some
I wrote in love
fragrant, and exquisite
as vintage lace
Pluck them please
keep them close to you in
some place
Don't get for me exotic flowers
for them,there will be
no room
I never lived as a rose
They called me a wild bloom

Conversations with the Sky

I whispered to the darkness
of the night
about our little wishes,
of sky and I
The sky looked at me
with a smirk,
"I know all.
The nights you stay up
stacking dreams neatly
when you browse your checklist
with wishes listed sequentially
I know when most checkboxes remain
vacant
You patiently wait for
another day,
another moment
another opportunity.
I expand in pride, the sky continued,
more kindly this time.
I invite you, then
to steal my stars to
embellish your dreams
The starkness does not become you"
I look back in hope now
Knowing someone else is up
with me
I feel the kinship,
the warmth envelopes me.
We both lie back
to await the dawn
It arrives on my horizon
wearing a blush
the sky looks at me again,
with a smirk
Love still exists,somewhere
in the universe!

Will you love me again~

What if I become
a stranger to you
all over again,
And you watch me from a distance,
singing in the rain
soaking up the sun
picking autumn leaves
and blowing them away
Will you fall in love with me
yet again?
Times have changed,
seasons too
Will you love my spunk
just as much as you did
last autumn
I am wiser now,
more sure of myself
The spine is straighter, and
the chin looks up
I have my choice
and, have found my voice!
Will you love me
just as much as
you did a few summers ago~

The Seasons of my Heart

Hearts are strange places
The seasons change
often,
swinging with mind vagaries

Sometimes ,its winter in the heart
Dark and Numb
frigid,
with icicles poking the senses
 and, the soul hibernates

Sometimes,
the sun shines
over the spaces of
my heart
Wilds bloom
riotous, and carefree
with complete abandon.
My soul sings a merry song.

It rains in my heart ,at times
menacing cloudburst
shows no mercy
and the deluge
drowns my soul!

The fall arrives quietly
blowing away my dreams
as they are strewn
abandoned
among leaves,
weathered and dead

My soul awaits

the advent of Spring

My Space

Don’t crowd my silence
With your eloquence
Every blank  does not need words.
Let your thoughts  talk to mine
Let our souls  mate sometime.

Don't crowd my space
with your overbearing presence
I have reserved this area
to float freely
 let us meet sometime
on a turf  that defines
neutrality

The Shadow of your Smile

Your warmth envelopes me
in a snug embrace, and
the frost melts around my soul.
I bask,
in your sunshine glance.
You say it all-
your eloquence warms
the icicles of my heart.
I read your verse
and find myself tucked
in a metaphor.
I know you dip your nib in love
the love that you hide from
the world.
I do not say much
yet, my soul talks
with yours
My silence has a language
that's beyond words
I glow in the shadow of your smile
knowing how much I'm loved
If you could ever measure
 the dimensions of love
you would know

how much you are loved .

The Battle

I see your doubts
and my misgivings
on the periphery of
our conversations.
You skirt around
the crux,
only slightly
brushing it.
I wait
In frigid anticipation!

Silly Little Leaf- 2

I flutter
in the gust
that threatens to
sweep me away.
My fears know for sure
there is no anchor
for a rudderless boat
nor, for a
stray, windblown leaf.
I pull myself together
hold on to what's left of me
The storm beguiles me
tells me to hang on
I m charmed ,and
let the storm anchor me
Against the wind
against the tide
I am blown
tattered to shreds
Me, a silly little leaf!
Lacerated and bleeding
I was also a life, once!

Another Coffee Evening

You let the pregnant pauses
hang in the air
I try to fill in with useless chatter
The dark clouds gather,
grow dense with a promise
I watch with a bated breath
the wind rises and,
sweeps them away
The rain gives a miss again!
your eyes lose their eloquence!
My heart misses a beat
I get up to leave
leaving my soul behind
you are left to take stock
of the dregs,
the moments,
your unsaid words,and
my soul!

The meeting...

I look everywhere
but,
at you.
My eyes dance like
a vibrant butterfly
frolicking on a happy spring day.
You look nowhere
but,
at me.
Unwavering glance sits on my face.
I speak non-stop
words running berserk.
You look amused
My words bounce off
without hitting you

A walk across his mind

She walks over his mental space,
trampling his thoughts
with her dainty feet.
Her laughter echoes
In the deeper recesses of his
heart.
And, a smile plays on his lips,
Inadvertently!
There’s more that makes
him muse.
She plays
in his most inappropriate thoughts.
There is so much of her
in his dreams
He does not want to wake up!

The gifts I ask from you

When you come to me
on a rain-sodden afternoon,
soaked in the downpour of hope,
Come laden with gifts,
that you must carry
as one does,
for the love of one's life
Bring for me,
the words anew
for the
unfinished poem
that I wrote for you
Bring me,too,
the missing notes,
of my favorite music
that went in search
of you.
Get me,
if you must,
the dreams deserted by my sleep
the nights,i laid awake
thinking of us.
And once the rain abates,
bring me the balmy sunshine
I have been hibernating
for sometime
