Hope Took a Soar

  Long ago
he found a bird, wounded and crushed
a song , that once floated in the breeze,
found ,sadly hushed
 he picked up the little soul
mended its broken wing,
nursed it so tenderly,
and urged it to sing.

Time sped,
the bird limped beck to health
he knew it was time.
Very gently,he  coaxed her to soar
 and pushed  her in  the storm

She resisted,
whimpered a little,
but knew it was futile to stall;
shook her feathers,fluttered her wings
and prayed God to save her from fall.

The storm ,furious and menacing,
could not beat her spirit.
She knew he was around,
somewhere,praying on the ground
as he watched her fly;
his  brave,little one,
conquering the sky

His chest swelled with pride,
found a spring in his stride,
he knew she would emerge strong
A hope,a prayer,
 rested in his soul for long.
