Ashen Silence

I look far, as far as my eyes can reach.
My eyes trailing your figure, fading in oblivion.

My heart refuses to go with you;
Crippled it feels, at your betrayal
You don’t want to look back
I don’t expect you to.

Your heart wants to come back too,
Only you hold it back.
Desperation drives you ahead,
Propelled by your unrelenting head.

What was build in ages,
I see going down in phases.
Ashen silence, white hot,
Searing through the deadly calm

Emptiness, so hollow,
That swallows the fiber of our needs.
Deadly, forlorn, vacant,
Like the dreaded abyss...
