Unwittingly,
The inevitable happened!
You and I,
The best of friends;
Endless chats,
Silly spats.
Pillow fights got outta hands.

And then it happened!

The heart now beat in a different rhythm
Something deeper,I couldn't fathom
Your unwavering glance
Held me captive
Unmoving,like a pinned butterfly,
I urged your eyes to forgive.

Hands held tentatively,
Replaced the cheery high fives
Something took us unawares
Altering our simple lives.

Pulses raced faster,
My toes learned to curl inside
Sleepless nights,never heard before
Now tossed our peace aside!
